PASTOR EMERITUS

Recognizing your pastoral leadership of this congregation since the year 1980, we bestow upon you the honor of being known to us and to others as PASTOR EMERITUS of this congregation.  We remember with warmest regard your unfaltering care and prayers for this congregation and the community, your impeccable integrity and wholehearted commitment to the call on your life is evidenced in your daily life and recognized throughout the community.  Church history records your many accomplishments including, but not limited to:

  • After being appointed Pastor, by Bishop W.N. Strobhar, after nine years of your leadership, the membership had tripled, and property had been acquired for the expansion of the ministry.
     

  • You have provided leadership for our ministerial staff and numerous ministries, which have proven to be vitally important to the spiritual growth and development of the members of the church and the community.
     

  • You implemented training for the congregation in leadership, spiritual authority, money management and becoming an armorbearer.
     

  • You established the First Pentecostal School of Ministry and Precious Seed Christian Day Care Center.
     

  • After a devastating fire that destroyed the church building in 1992, you provided the necessary leadership to build a new and larger church edifice within seventeen months.
     

  • In June 2010, you were tremendously blessed to see the reality of a long-awaited vision; the grand opening of Pentecostal Square Affordable Housing for senior citizens and the Samuel W. Ellis Medical Center, and in September 2012, the First Pentecostal Community Center.
     

  • In addition to your pastoral responsibilities, you served in several prominent positions in the United Holy Church of America, Inc.  You served as District Elder of the Delaware Sub-District, on the Board of Elders, and as the 2nd  Vice president and Vice President of the Northern District Convocation of the United Holy Church of America, Inc.
     

  • In May 2012 you rose to a new level of distinction when you were consecrated to the office of Bishop at the United Holy Church of America, Inc. General Convocation.
     

  • You are well known and highly esteemed in the city of Chester, PA and the surrounding communities.  You were an active participant with the Delaware Valley Renewal Ministry and Prayer Summit, the 6 A.M. Monday Morning Prayer Group of Chester, the Crozer-Chester Medical Center Hospice Program, and a member of the Ministerium Fellowship of Chester and Vicinity.

 

The Executive Board of First Pentecostal Holy Church, in conferring this honor, join with you in a continued appreciation for the pastoral office, and though you will no longer actively serve as pastor, your wisdom, integrity, compassion, and quiet demeanor help us to regard you and the pastoral office you held in our midst. 

 In conferring this honor, we pledge ourselves to continued concern for your health and happiness.  We will hold you in our prayers and cherish the contributions you have made.
